Principal Java Software Engineer – Spring Boot

About the role

Volmatica is seeking an experienced Principal Java Software Engineer to lead its development team, drive technical excellence, and deliver scalable, high‑performance software solutions. The role focuses on building robust Java applications using Spring Boot and related technologies while mentoring a team of developers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and support a team of developers.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high‑performance Java applications.
• Provide technical guidance and conduct code reviews across multiple projects.
• Work extensively with Spring Boot, JPA, SQL, and multi‑threading.
• Design and implement robust, scalable software architectures.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive effective solutions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver projects successfully.
• Monitor team performance, project progress, and ensure timely delivery of high‑quality solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of professional Java development experience.
• Strong command of Java fundamentals and Spring Boot.
• Experience with MERN or MEAN stack (preferred).
• Hands‑on experience with multi‑threading, JPA, SQL, and database optimization.
• Experience developing secure applications using Spring Security, OAuth2, JWT.
• Familiarity with event‑driven architectures using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar.
• Extensive knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Data, and JVM concepts.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and scalable application development.
• Ability to provide technical leadership across multiple development teams and own technical decisions.
