Principal Software Engineer – Backend

About the role

Dubizzle Labs is expanding its Pakistan office and seeks a Principal Software Engineer to lead the backend team. You will design and deliver world‑class products that support rapid growth across ten countries, while mentoring engineers and shaping technical strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain high‑performance backend services using open‑source technologies.
• Lead and mentor a team of senior engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
• Collaborate with product, design, UX, infrastructure, and strategy teams to deliver high‑quality features.
• Define and enforce coding standards, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing practices.
• Drive hiring of top talent and build high‑performing engineering squads.
• Own business KPIs, align technical decisions with product goals, and contribute to Dubizzle’s technical vision.

Required profile

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven leadership, coaching, and mentorship abilities.
• Experience with high‑traffic, large‑scale web applications.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Kanban, Scrum, XP).
