Procurement Buyer – Pharmacy Supplies

About the role

The Procurement Buyer will manage the end‑to‑end acquisition of pharmacy goods and services, ensuring compliance with AKU policies, quality standards and budgetary limits. This position plays a critical role in guaranteeing timely availability of essential items at optimal cost.

Key responsibilities

• Review and process purchase requisitions, ensuring alignment with internal procurement policies and budget constraints.
• Source suppliers, obtain competitive quotations, and prepare purchase orders while maintaining strict internal controls.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers, evaluating performance on quality, cost, delivery and service.
• Negotiate prices, terms and conditions to achieve cost savings and added value for the organization.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts and correspondence, using ERP systems for transaction management and reporting.
• Coordinate with requestors, finance, warehouse and inventory teams to ensure seamless material flow and clear delivery expectations.
• Ensure all procurement activities adhere to ethical, legal and organizational standards, supporting audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems for managing procurement transactions and reporting.
