Punjabi Expert with Mathematical Background (AI Training Content)

About the role

SME Careers, a fast-growing AI data services company and subsidiary of SuperAnnotate, is hiring an hourly, remote contractor Punjabi Language Specialist (subject matter expert). You will review AI-generated Punjabi content and create high-quality Punjabi reference content, judging language quality and step-by-step reasoning and giving precise written feedback. Your work helps make AI models' Punjabi output more natural, reliable, culturally accurate and clearly written.

Key responsibilities

• Create prompts and gold-standard Punjabi answers across domains such as general knowledge, customer support, education and conversational writing.
• Evaluate and rank AI outputs for fluency, correctness, tone match and cultural appropriateness.
• Detect unsafe or misleading content, factual hallucinations, bias and policy-risk language, and validate reliability across use cases.
• Fact-check claims when needed and write high-quality rewrites and model answers.
• Rate and compare multiple AI responses based on correctness and overall quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mathematics.
• Native or near-native Punjabi proficiency (reading and writing required).
• Strong professional English (minimum C1) to follow guidelines and give detailed feedback in English.
• 3+ years of professional experience in writing, editing, localization, translation, content QA, journalism, education or related language work.
• Comfortable with Gurmukhi (India) and/or Shahmukhi (Pakistan) scripts, and with formal/informal registers, dialects and audiences (India, Pakistan, diaspora).
• High attention to detail and ability to work reliably and independently in an hourly, remote contractor setup across time zones.
• Prior experience with AI data training, translation QA, editorial QA or rubric-based evaluation is strongly preferred.
