Quality Control Officer – Offset Printing

About the role

The Quality Control Officer will ensure that all printed products meet the highest standards of colour accuracy, registration, and finish throughout the production process. Working on‑site in a busy offset printing and packaging facility, you will collaborate with designers, machine operators, and the Production Manager to certify each job before it proceeds.

Key responsibilities

• Perform initial "make ready" checks on the printing press, verifying text, colours, registration, and matching approved shade cards.
• Document job numbers and obtain signatures from the designer, operator, and Production Manager on approved sheets.
• Conduct hourly inspections on the press, UV coating, lamination, die‑cutting, sorting, and pasting machines, signing off each checkpoint.
• Stop production and coordinate corrective actions when significant variations or faults are detected.
• Inspect the first few sheets on UV and die‑cutting machines for bleed, shine, dryness, cutting accuracy, alignment, sizing, and embossing.
• Monitor the sorting and pasting processes, performing periodic checks.
• Execute final quality checks on 0.25‑2% of the total job quantity and re‑inspect 100% if defect rates exceed 5%.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in offset printing quality control.
