Refinery Mechanical Technician – Pump Maintenance Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Technician to join our refinery maintenance team. You will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and repairing high‑pressure pumps and rotating equipment, ensuring maximum reliability and safety in a demanding production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Overhaul, repair, and rebuild centrifugal, reciprocating, and positive‑displacement pumps.
• Perform laser and dial‑indicator alignments on pump‑motor assemblies.
• Replace mechanical seals, cartridge seals, bearings, wear rings, and packing.
• Diagnose machinery faults such as vibration, cavitation, seal leaks, and low discharge pressure.
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance tasks via CMMS/SAP work orders.
• Support scheduled refinery turnarounds, equipment blinding, and major overhauls.

Required profile

• High School Diploma, technical certificate, or apprenticeship in mechanical maintenance.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on maintenance experience in an oil refinery or petrochemical plant.
• Physical ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 lb.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of API 610 pumps and fluid‑transfer systems.
• Proficiency with laser alignment, micrometers, calipers, and torque wrenches.
• Ability to read P&IDs, isometric drawings, and equipment blueprints.
• Experience using CMMS/SAP for preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Vibration analysis and troubleshooting of rotating equipment.
