Regional Operations Manager (South)

About the role

The Regional Operations Manager will oversee branch operations across the southern region, ensuring compliance with policies, SOPs, and regulatory requirements while driving operational efficiency and risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Implement operational policies, SOPs, and regulatory requirements across all branches.
• Supervise and support Area Operations Managers and branch staff to ensure efficient operations.
• Conduct periodic branch visits to review internal controls, compliance, and service quality.
• Monitor audit observations and ensure timely rectification.
• Lead recruitment, training, succession planning, and retention of operations staff.
• Strengthen operational controls and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
• Report and escalate fraud, operational losses, and compliance breaches.
• Submit accurate operational, management, and regulatory reports.
• Coordinate with Head Office and stakeholders to achieve regional objectives and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 12 years of banking operations experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
• Relevant banking, operations, risk or compliance certifications.
• Experience in banking, micro‑finance or financial services, preferably with multi‑branch network management.
