Relationship Manager – Business Working Capital (SME Banking)

About the role

The Relationship Manager – Business Working Capital will drive sales and manage the SME working‑capital portfolio for Standard Chartered. You will ensure high‑quality customer service, compliance, and growth of the SME banking book.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve sales targets set by the Team Leader.
• Prospect and acquire new SME customers in line with the bank’s strategy.
• Visit existing SME clients to deepen relationships and uncover new business opportunities.
• Follow strict account‑opening procedures and conduct thorough credit risk assessments for trade and working‑capital facilities.
• Prepare and submit comprehensive business credit applications.
• Manage the SME credit portfolio, ensuring no expired facilities.
• Monitor fund movements, flagging accounts that fall below required criteria.
• Maintain compliance with KYC, AML reporting and timely closure of suspicious transaction reports.
• Coordinate closely with client‑management and operations teams to deliver prompt service.

Required profile

• Experience in corporate/commercial banking with solid knowledge of trade and working‑capital products.
• Strong understanding of credit risk assessment and business credit application processes for SMEs.
• Excellent customer‑service orientation and relationship‑management capabilities.
• Ability to monitor and manage SME fund movements effectively.
• Familiarity with compliance and AML guidelines.
