Remote Full-Stack Software Developer

About the role

FairJ Consultancy is hiring a full-time Software Developer to work remotely, building and maintaining software that supports its student-visa and admissions operations. The developer takes end-to-end ownership of projects, from planning and architecture through to deployment and maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, code, test and debug applications, and integrate new features into existing systems
• Work with counseling and operations teams to turn business requirements into technical specifications
• Automate workflows and improve data management and reporting tools
• Contribute to performance optimisation, security best practices, documentation and technical support
• Take part in code reviews and follow development standards

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Full-Stack Software Developer, able to build a complete application from scratch to production
• Ability to deploy and manage applications on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or similar platforms
• Experience with large datasets, data importing, validation and automated data updates
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Portfolio or GitHub profile showing deployed applications

Required skills

• Frontend: React, Next.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3
• Backend: Node.js, Python, Django, FastAPI or similar
• Databases: PostgreSQL, SQL, database design and query optimisation
• REST APIs, third-party integrations, authentication and authorisation
• Git, GitHub, Docker, Linux, CI/CD
• University search, filtering and eligibility systems; AI/LLM APIs and RAG are a strong advantage
