About the role

The client, a global leader in the Technology, Information and Internet sector, is seeking a Remote Mechanical Engineer to provide expert guidance on system architecture, troubleshoot complex issues, and optimise performance across distributed systems. This contract position offers the chance to work on high‑impact projects while collaborating with product, engineering and operations teams worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evaluate scalable system architectures that meet evolving business and technical requirements.
• Diagnose and resolve high‑priority technical issues in production environments with minimal downtime.
• Develop and document engineering best practices, standards, and guidelines for cross‑team adoption.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to align technical solutions with business objectives.
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews to ensure quality and security standards.

Required profile

• Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices, or large‑scale backend infrastructure.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities with a proven track record of resolving complex technical challenges.
• Excellent communication skills for documenting designs and presenting architectural decisions.
• Experience mentoring engineers and driving technical excellence across teams.
