Security Guard

About the role

The Security Guard protects the organisation's premises, assets, personnel and visitors by keeping a safe and secure environment. Duties include monitoring access points, carrying out patrols, responding to incidents and enforcing site rules and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control entry and exit of personnel, visitors and vehicles at designated access points.
• Carry out regular patrols to detect and deter unauthorized activity, safety hazards or suspicious behaviour.
• Operate and monitor CCTV and alarm systems.
• Maintain accurate visitor, delivery, incident and daily activity logs.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, alarms and disturbances and escalate to the appropriate authorities when needed.
• Enforce site access, safety and security policies.
• Inspect security equipment and report faults or maintenance needs.
• Guide and assist employees, visitors and contractors, and support emergency evacuation and safety drills.
• Prepare incident reports and submit them to the supervisor on time.

Required profile

• Matriculation / high school (or equivalent); higher qualifications preferred.
• Prior experience as a security guard or in a related field is an advantage.
• Physically fit and able to stand, walk or patrol for long periods.
• Basic knowledge of security procedures, first aid and fire safety.
• Ex-servicemen or candidates with a disciplined-forces background are encouraged to apply.
