Senior Academic Researcher (Remote)

About the role

This position focuses on independent, systematic research aimed at evaluating and improving artificial intelligence systems. You will contribute to the reliability and safety of AI tools used across multiple industries by identifying model weaknesses and proposing concrete refinements.

Key responsibilities

• Design and run controlled experiments to assess AI model behavior under diverse conditions and edge cases.
• Document results in structured reports with quantitative data, qualitative observations, and actionable recommendations.
• Detect recurring failure patterns or biases in AI outputs and suggest targeted improvements to model architecture or training data.
• Collaborate with external contributors and academic peers to validate hypotheses and refine methodologies.
• Stay current with AI research trends, benchmark datasets, and evaluation frameworks.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a closely related quantitative field.
• Proven experience designing and conducting empirical AI studies with adherence to reproducibility standards.
• Strong background in statistical analysis, experimental design, and hypothesis testing applied to model evaluation.
• Excellent written communication skills and a record of publishing research findings in peer‑reviewed venues.
