Senior Backend Architect

About the role

We are seeking a highly senior backend engineer to lead architecture and delivery of AI‑first backend services. This is a high‑ownership, fully remote position where you will translate ambiguous product needs into production‑ready solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and own backend services using NestJS and TypeScript, from schema definition to production deployment.
• Make independent architecture decisions focusing on scalability, maintainability, reliability, security, and performance.
• Build and maintain GraphQL APIs across a microservices environment.
• Own database design, optimization, and reliability for PostgreSQL.
• Define technical direction, set quality standards, and enforce them for both AI‑generated and manually written code.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Lead Engineer or Architect, capable of making autonomous architectural decisions.
• Strong judgment in fast‑paced, high‑accountability environments with minimal hand‑holding.
• Ability to work in an AI‑first workflow while maintaining engineering standards.
