Senior Business Internal Auditor

About the role

DigitalOcean is seeking a Senior Business Internal Auditor to strengthen its internal control environment and support SOX compliance. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams, leveraging AI‑assisted workflows to enhance audit efficiency and drive continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the SOX PMO and control owners to design, document, and maintain internal controls.
• Perform periodic testing of controls, develop test plans, and create audit workpapers using AuditBoard.
• Prepare audit request lists, coordinate with stakeholders, and track status of documentation.
• Conduct process and system walkthroughs, create flowcharts, and use AI/automation to accelerate testing and analysis.
• Assist in policy reviews, provide recommendations, and support stakeholders in addressing control deficiencies.
• Build and nurture relationships with process owners to promote risk awareness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in external or internal audit; Big 4 experience is a plus.
• Professional certification (CPA, CIA, CISA) preferred or in progress.
• Experience with SOX testing, internal control over financial reporting, or financial audits.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AuditBoard for audit documentation.
• Experience using Looker or similar data‑analytics/visualisation tools.
• Strong knowledge of G‑Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
• Ability to apply AI and automation in audit processes.
• Hands‑on experience with SOX compliance testing.
