Senior Design & Application Engineer - Control & Automation

About the role

Avanceon is looking for a highly motivated Senior Design & Application Engineer with a strong background in Control & Automation to lead its international project. The role leads a team of engineers and technical experts in designing, developing and implementing control and automation solutions, and involves close collaboration with clients, stakeholders and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers and technical experts and provide technical direction and mentorship.
• Define project goals, scope and deliverables with cross-functional teams.
• Design, configure, integrate and implement process control solutions across industries.
• Develop P&IDs, loop descriptions, user requirement specifications and software/hardware design specifications.
• Design, write, implement, test and document PLC, DCS and HMI software, and create validation and testing protocols.
• Specify and purchase process instrumentation, PLCs, DCSs, drives and other electrical components, and develop electrical and control panel schematics.
• Develop scope of supply documents, assist with man-hour estimates, and install, test and start up control systems on site.
• Train operators and engineers on control systems.
• Ensure quality through regular reviews, assessments and checks, and keep project timelines on track.

Required profile

• B.E. in Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics from a recognised institute.
• Minimum 7-8 years of practical experience as an Automation Engineer or Lead Engineer delivering to process control system requirements.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Experience implementing automation and electrical solutions and writing software code.
• Good knowledge of process control automation systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA, field instrumentation).
• Knowledge of process manufacturing, field instrumentation, control system installation and implementation across all project phases.
• Excellent written and oral communication, with English-speaking skills and customer relationship building.
