Senior Finance Manager

About the role

j. awan & partners is a fast-growing international GRC consultancy with offices in the UAE, KSA, UK & Ireland, Singapore, Portugal, Pakistan, Qatar and South Africa, offering regulatory governance, risk, compliance, finance, recruitment and technology services. It is hiring a Senior Finance Manager in Karachi, reporting to the Director Finance, to strengthen the financial integrity and operational efficiency of its clients.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and enhance clients' financial and accounting processes, ensuring robust controls, accurate reporting and compliance across all entities
• Manage taxation requirements across multiple jurisdictions and ensure timely, compliant tax outcomes
• Ensure data integrity and entry of data into client accounting systems
• Handle accruals and provisions, full balance sheet reconciliation, and accurate, timely monthly book closing
• Prepare periodic trial balance, balance sheet, income statement, cash flow and Board Pack with analysis and commentary
• Prepare regulatory returns and liaise with authorities
• Support the Head of Finance on consolidation, VAT, accounts receivable and payable oversight, and annual audited accounts
• Advise front office and stakeholders on tax rules and respond to tax notices
• Support internal and external audit, maintain audit-ready documentation and confidentiality of client data

Required profile

• 7-10 years of experience in the financial services sector
• Degree from a leading, internationally recognised Pakistani institution preferred (e.g. IBA, LUMS)
• Familiarity with IFRS accounting standards
• Strong integrity, accountability and collaboration with senior management, auditors and regulators

Required skills

• IFRS, monthly close, accruals and provisions, and financial statement preparation
• Tax knowledge across jurisdictions, including VAT, CRS, FATCA and DAC6
• Accounting software such as QuickBooks and Oracle, and strong Excel skills
• Ability to handle multiple mandates and tight tax deadlines
