Senior Integration Engineer (Remote, Anywhere in Pakistan)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Integration Engineer to design, build and operate event‑driven integration services on AWS. The role is fully remote and open to candidates located anywhere in Pakistan, offering the chance to work on high‑impact data pipelines for regulated and enterprise domains.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy and operate serverless services using AWS SQS/SNS, Lambda, EventBridge, Step Functions, S3 and API Gateway.
• Extend the canonical data model and build connectors that ingest from and deliver to external partner systems, handling JSON, XML, CSV and other formats.
• Implement robust integration patterns such as idempotency, deduplication, ordering, dead‑letter queues, replay, retry/back‑off and fault tolerance.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of the VetLink integration and subsequent projects, including documentation and operational runbooks.
• Maintain and modernise existing PHP‑based integrations and gradually migrate them to modern stacks.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, mentor junior engineers and raise engineering standards.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience building and operating backend or integration services in production.
• Proven end‑to‑end ownership from design through deployment and operations.
• Strong problem‑solving and debugging skills across distributed systems.
• Experience working with regulated or GDPR‑sensitive data domains.
• Track record of mentoring or leading engineers.

• AWS serverless services: SQS, SNS, Lambda, EventBridge, Step Functions, API Gateway, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager.
• Programming languages: Node.js, TypeScript, Python, Go (optional), PHP.
• Data formats: JSON, XML/XSD, CSV, XSLT/DataWeave.
• Integration protocols: REST, SOAP, SFTP, batch files.
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation.
• CI/CD pipelines, structured logging, monitoring, OpenSearch, Kinesis, DynamoDB.
• Practical use of AI tools in engineering workflows.
