Senior Legal Counsel – Contracts

About the role

The Senior Legal Counsel – Contracts provides independent legal support to Jazz’s functional departments, ensuring contracts are drafted, reviewed, and negotiated in line with internal policies and applicable law. Reporting to the Stream Head of Contracts, the role balances day‑to‑day operational tasks with strategic initiatives and cross‑functional projects.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, engaging directly with internal stakeholders and counterparties.
• Provide legal advice on commercial arrangements, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Identify when specialist legal support is required and coordinate to control costs.
• Conduct training sessions on legal developments, contract management, and relevant policies.
• Advise on new strategic initiatives, investments, and business lines.
• Support risk‑mitigation processes related to AML, CTF, export controls, sanctions, data protection, and anti‑corruption.
• Leverage legal expertise for digital financial services and streamline contract workflows.
• Collaborate with governance and HOD teams on policy reviews, sanctions, and export controls.
• Standardise contract flow processes and contribute to M&A and special projects.

Required profile

• Senior‑level legal professional with extensive experience in contract law and commercial negotiations.
• Proven ability to work independently and make decisive decisions.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks such as AML, CTF, export controls, data protection, and anti‑bribery.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
