Senior Linux Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a highly experienced Linux Engineer to design, standardize, automate, and optimize enterprise‑wide Linux platforms. This is a hands‑on engineering role focused on building reusable solutions for Linux Operations and Infrastructure teams rather than day‑to‑day system administration.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain enterprise‑wide Linux platform standards and automated build solutions.
• Develop standardized OS and container golden images for bare‑metal, VMware, OpenShift, and cloud environments.
• Manage and enhance Red Hat Satellite, Kickstart, PXE, DHCP, and Redfish for automated provisioning.
• Engineer and optimize RHEL platforms, including kernel, CPU, memory, I/O, and network/TCP performance.
• Define and implement Linux security, hardening, configuration, and compliance standards.
• Develop monitoring and observability solutions integrating with Splunk, ELK, SIEM, and AppDynamics.
• Automate patching, firmware updates, configuration management, monitoring, and compliance using Ansible, Bash, and Python.
• Support Linux platforms across OpenShift, VMware, Kubernetes, and cloud environments.
• Act as Level 3 escalation point for critical incidents and lead root‑cause analysis.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, DevOps, Security, Enterprise Architecture, and BAU teams to establish future‑state Linux standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of enterprise Linux experience, including at least 5 years in senior Linux administration and 5 years in Linux engineering.
• RHCE certification required; RHCA is a plus.

• RHEL (6 onward), Red Hat Satellite, Kickstart, PXE, DHCP, Redfish.
• OpenShift, Kubernetes, VMware, container image creation.
• Ansible, Bash, Python, Packer, CI/CD pipelines.
• Networking protocols: DNS, NFS, NTP, SNMP, SMTP, TCP/IP, Ethernet.
• Linux kernel analysis, performance tuning, troubleshooting.
• Monitoring and logging tools: Splunk, ELK, SIEM, AppDynamics.
