Senior Manager – Data Engineer

About the role

The Data & Analytics unit of a leading bank is looking for a Senior Manager to lead the design, implementation and governance of data pipelines and architecture across its Wholesale & Operations banking functions. The role will shape the bank’s transition to a Data‑Driven Organization by delivering real‑time and batch data solutions on both on‑premise and cloud platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain real‑time and batch data pipelines supporting core, payment, digital, marketing, risk and compliance systems.
• Define data strategy, architecture and best practices for Enterprise and Azure Data Lakes.
• Lead cross‑functional teams to deliver data solutions for regulatory, operational and management reporting.
• Estimate effort, manage change releases, and coordinate resources across multiple business groups.
• Ensure data solutions meet business needs across UAE, Egypt, Pakistan and other IBG regions.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in data engineering within banking or similarly regulated environments.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and drive strategic improvements.
• Strong understanding of core banking, payment, digital journey and risk/compliance data flows.
