Senior Manager Platform Architect

About the role

Abacus Consulting is seeking a Senior Manager Platform Architect to lead the design, development, and evolution of scalable software platforms that support high‑impact business solutions. The role combines strategic vision with hands‑on technical leadership to ensure platforms meet performance, security, and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the platform architecture roadmap, aligning short‑, medium‑ and long‑term goals with business objectives and emerging technologies.
• Lead cross‑functional teams in designing scalable architectures using load balancing, caching, data partitioning and horizontal scaling techniques.
• Implement robust security controls and conduct vulnerability assessments (SQL injection, XSS, CSRF) in partnership with cybersecurity teams.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks using tools such as Vtune and PVS‑Studio, and anticipate future scalability needs.
• Enforce architectural standards, coding guidelines, and governance frameworks (TOGAF, GDPR, HIPAA) across delivery squads.
• Collaborate with other chapter leads to ensure coherence of the overall Software Solutions strategy.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in platform architecture and technical leadership.
• Strong functional analysis skills to translate business requirements into clear technical specifications.
• Demonstrated ability to guide large, distributed teams and drive engineering excellence.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder alignment and governance enforcement.
