Senior Mechanical & Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical & Electrical Design Engineer to lead the creation of production‑ready designs for custom industrial machinery. You will work in an Engineer‑to‑Order environment, delivering new machines, engineering changes, and updates to legacy products while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and supply‑chain teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and revise mechanical and electrical systems for custom industrial equipment.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts.
• Develop assemblies, weldments, sheet‑metal parts, machined components, and machine electrical systems.
• Generate and manage accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and select appropriate components.
• Support engineering changes, standardisation initiatives, and legacy design updates.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturing standards and industry codes such as UL508A and NFPA 79.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Supply‑Chain throughout project execution.
• Maintain engineering documentation in PDM/PLM systems while handling multiple concurrent projects.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience designing OEM industrial capital equipment or custom machinery.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal onboarding.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Experience in an Engineer‑to‑Order manufacturing environment.

• Familiarity with Allen‑Bradley/Rockwell automation platforms
