Senior Medical Editor

About the role

The Senior Medical Editor ensures the editorial integrity and factual accuracy of all marketing materials produced for pharmaceutical and life‑science clients. Working within BGBx’s multidisciplinary teams, you will guarantee that content meets American Medical Association (AMA) style, client guidelines, and FDA regulations while mentoring junior editors.

Key responsibilities

• Edit initial and subsequent rounds of content for AMA style, client style, FDA compliance, grammar, spelling, and consistency across campaigns.
• Fact‑check scientific and medical data to ensure accurate representation of source material.
• Maintain high‑quality formatting and visual layout throughout the editorial process.
• Perform full editorial reviews, including copy‑edits, W4Ws, fact‑checks, and change checks at designated stages.
• Create and update comprehensive style guides for assigned accounts.
• Participate in kickoff and status meetings, contribute to timeline development, and track time spent on each job.
• Provide backup support to other editorial team members and keep supervisors informed of workload and status.

Required profile

• Strong command of AMA style, client style guides, and FDA regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to verify scientific information.
• Experience mentoring junior editors and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
• Availability to work during U.S. Eastern Time business hours.
