Senior Mobile Application Developer (React Native, Expo, TypeScript)

About the role

The Senior Mobile App Developer designs, develops and maintains production iOS and Android applications using React Native, Expo and TypeScript. You take hands-on ownership of mobile architecture, feature delivery, performance, security and releases, working closely with product managers, UI/UX designers, backend developers and QA, and guiding technical decisions, reviewing code and mentoring other developers.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, build and maintain scalable iOS and Android apps with React Native, Expo and TypeScript, delivering responsive, accessible interfaces for phones, tablets and TVs.
• Integrate APIs, authentication, secure token storage, push notifications, deep links and offline/error-handling flows.
• Diagnose JavaScript and native crashes, device-specific defects and build failures, and profile startup time, rendering, memory and network usage.
• Own Expo builds, prebuild, config plugins, native SDK integrations and dependency upgrades, and manage EAS Build, EAS Submit and EAS Update, Git-based CI/CD, signing and app-store submissions.
• Plan safe over-the-air updates, runtime compatibility, staged releases and rollback procedures.
• Clarify requirements with product, design, backend and QA teams, estimate work and deliver features end to end.
• Lead technical discussions and code reviews, mentor developers, document architecture and raise delivery risks early.
• Write unit, component and integration tests, support automated end-to-end and regression testing on real devices, and maintain coding standards and production observability.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or software engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of mobile application development, including 3+ years of hands-on React Native development and proven production experience with Expo.
• Demonstrated ownership of production apps released on both the Apple App Store and Google Play, including signing, submissions and release troubleshooting.
• Strong API integration, authentication, secure storage and mobile lifecycle knowledge; ability to debug native iOS/Android issues using Xcode and Android Studio.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, performance profiling, crash reporting and automated testing with Jest and React Native Testing Library or equivalent.
• Preferred: Swift and Kotlin, Maestro or Detox, in-app purchases, subscriptions, media playback, Arabic/English RTL interfaces, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP with Sentry or Firebase Crashlytics.
