Senior Software Engineer - AI Voice and Digital Agents

About the role

ibex. is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, integrate, test and deploy AI-powered voice and digital agents for enterprise clients. The role combines hands-on AI agent development with software engineering and client-facing solution delivery, working closely with clients and internal teams to turn business requirements into conversational journeys, workflows, integrations and production-ready AI solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build AI-powered voice and digital agents using enterprise AI platforms.
• Work with clients to turn their requirements into agent personas, prompts, conversation journeys, workflows and business rules.
• Configure and customize agents using platform capabilities, reusable components and custom code where needed.
• Develop and integrate solutions with TypeScript/JavaScript, REST APIs, webhooks, SDKs and JSON-based interfaces.
• Integrate with enterprise systems and backend services, including authentication and data integrations.
• Apply prompt engineering, context design, RAG, tool/function calling and AI agent concepts to improve agent performance.
• Build and maintain integrations supporting client use cases and agent workflows.
• Perform functional testing, troubleshooting, debugging and optimization across agents, integrations and backend systems.
• Support client demos, UAT, deployment and post-deployment issue resolution.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, QA, Solutions and Client teams, and document configurations, integrations and technical decisions.
• Create reusable configurations, components and integration patterns, and take ownership of assigned technical deliverables.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in software development, technical implementation, backend integration or solution delivery.
• Ability to understand business requirements and turn them into technical workflows and conversational experiences.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work directly with clients.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with multiple client projects and changing requirements.

Required skills

• Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript/JavaScript; Node.js is a plus.
• Experience with REST APIs, webhooks, JSON, Git and SQL/databases.
• Practical experience with Generative AI, LLMs, conversational AI, prompt engineering or RAG.
• Experience building or configuring AI agents, chatbots, voicebots or low-code/no-code solutions is highly desirable.
• Basic understanding of voice/telephony concepts such as SIP, IVR, call routing and transfers is desirable.
• Experience troubleshooting API integrations, agent behavior, data flows and production issues.
