Senior Software Engineer - AI/ML & Full Stack

About the role

Koveret is building a SaaS platform for service businesses and is hiring a hands-on Senior Software Engineer to take ownership of complex work across its PHP/Laravel platform, modern web applications, AI features and cloud infrastructure. The role is remote, and candidates must be available to work and collaborate during New York business hours (Eastern Time).

Key responsibilities

• Own features from technical design through development, testing, deployment and production support.
• Build and improve applications, APIs, background jobs and integrations with PHP and Laravel.
• Design scalable architecture for a multi-tenant SaaS platform, with attention to security, data integrity, performance and maintainability.
• Work across the stack with React, Next.js, Node.js, Python and Django as projects require.
• Design and build AI agents and agentic workflows that use tools, access data and run with appropriate controls and monitoring.
• Use LLM APIs, RAG, LangChain and LangGraph, and MCP tools to connect AI assistants with applications and workflows.
• Use AI development tools such as Claude for research, development and debugging, and review and validate AI-generated work before production.
• Write effective prompts, evaluate AI outputs, and design REST APIs and third-party integrations.
• Improve database queries, performance, logging, monitoring and incident response.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated checks and reliable deployment workflows.
• Configure and manage applications and cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud and/or AWS using sound DevOps practices.
• Review code, resolve complex issues, help raise engineering standards and communicate progress and risks clearly.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience; 3-8 years are encouraged.
• Strong, hands-on PHP/Laravel experience and experience building production applications, APIs and databases.
• Practical experience with AI development tools and LLM APIs, including AI agents, Claude, MCP, RAG, LangChain or LangGraph.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, cloud deployments and production troubleshooting.
• Ability to write clear prompts, evaluate AI output and solve problems independently.
• Availability to work and collaborate during New York business hours (Eastern Time).
