Senior Solution Architect – Automation & Control Systems

About the role

Descon Engineering Limited is looking for a Senior Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of automation and control system solutions. The role involves translating customer requirements into robust PLC/DCS/SCADA architectures and supporting business development activities.

Key responsibilities

• Review RFQs and ensure proposed solutions meet customer specifications.
• Design and propose PLC, DCS, and SCADA automation solutions using platforms such as Rockwell, Siemens, Honeywell, ABB and Schneider.
• Develop cost‑optimized control system architectures and field instrumentation layouts.
• Prepare technical and commercial proposals, cost estimations and project execution plans.
• Perform engineering, construction and testing effort estimations and identify technical/commercial risks.
• Coordinate with the sales team on proposals, follow‑ups and vendor negotiations.
• Ensure compliance with CSIA standards and highlight any deviations.
• Support site visits for solution assessment and optimisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5‑6 years of experience in engineering, automation, control systems or technical sales.
• Proven experience with brownfield projects, site execution and construction estimation is a plus.
• Strong business development, negotiation and communication skills.
• Analytical mindset with a proactive, positive attitude.
