Senior Technical / Project Lead

About the role

Avanceon, a global system integrator in control, instrumentation and automation, is hiring a Senior Technical / Project Lead. The role provides end-to-end technical leadership and execution oversight for complex, multi-disciplinary projects covering automation (PLC/SCADA, RTUs), electrical systems (MCC/VFD, power distribution), instrumentation, mechanical and civil elements. It is the primary technical authority, ensuring deliverables, on-site execution, testing and commissioning meet specifications, contracts and international standards (IEC, NEC, ATEX, API).

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams in reviewing and approving technical submittals, designs and drawings across automation, electrical, MCCs/VFDs and I&C systems.
• Ensure compliance with IEC, NEC, ATEX, ISO and API standards throughout the project lifecycle.
• Act as subject matter expert on PLC/SCADA, RTUs, MCC panels, VFD programming, field instrumentation and power distribution.
• Oversee on-site execution of electrical installations, MCC/VFD wiring, load distribution and motor control setups, and manage troubleshooting, FAT/SAT and commissioning.
• Monitor execution risks, implement mitigation plans and ensure QA/QC compliance.
• Act as technical focal point for customers, consultants, OEMs and subcontractors, lead technical meetings and site inspections, and coordinate procurement of long-lead items.
• Prepare technical reports, test sheets, as-built drawings, O&M manuals and commissioning documents, and enforce contractual and safety requirements.
• Supervise and mentor electrical supervisors, automation engineers, technicians and fitters, and optimise manpower allocation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or a related engineering discipline.
• 8-12+ years of progressive experience in electrical, automation, MCC/VFD systems and instrumentation execution, preferably in Oil & Gas, Utilities, Industrial Automation or Infrastructure.
• Proven track record managing multi-disciplinary field teams and delivering complex projects on tight schedules.
• Decisive leadership, strong focus on quality, safety and compliance, and ability to perform under pressure.

Required skills

• MCCs, VFD configuration and troubleshooting, motor control logic and panel integration.
• SCADA/PLC systems, RTUs, industrial communication networks and field instrumentation.
• MS Project and technical drawing software such as AutoCAD Electrical.
