Software Engineer – Java & AWS

About the role

Systems Limited is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to design, develop and maintain Java‑based applications on Amazon Web Services. The role involves working within a Scrum team to deliver high‑quality, cloud‑native solutions for our retail clients across Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore.

Key responsibilities

• Drive continuous integration, continuous delivery and cloud migration initiatives.
• Participate in defect tracking, source control and release management to ensure stable software releases.
• Conduct peer code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Contribute to design and development of micro‑service APIs using REST, JSON and XML.
• Support production environments, including build and release planning and deployment to AWS.
• Assist the development manager with high‑level software strategy and solution definition.
• Stay current with industry trends and apply new technologies to architectural decisions.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Java development.
• Strong knowledge of Java Spring Boot framework.
• Hands‑on experience with Amazon AWS (or GCP) services.
• Experience with backend databases such as Spanner, NoSQL or PostgreSQL.
• Proven ability to work in cross‑functional, collaborative teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
