About the role
Habib Bank AG Zurich is looking for motivated and skilled Software Engineers (Java) to join its Software Development team in Karachi, Pakistan. The team designs, develops and maintains scalable applications supporting critical banking and digital platforms. The position is full-time.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop Java applications using OOP principles
- Work with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Participate in code reviews and follow best practices
- Troubleshoot, debug and optimise performance
- Collaborate with QA, DevOps and Infrastructure teams
- Support deployments and maintain documentation
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree (4 years) in Software Engineering or Computer Science from a reputable university, with a minimum CGPA of 3.0
- 2-5 years of role-based software development experience; fresh graduates are also considered
- Master's degree or MBA is an advantage; experience in banking or financial systems is a plus
Required skills
- Hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot and Kafka
- Working knowledge of Angular
- Good understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases
- Solid grasp of OOP concepts and data structures
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
