Solution Architect - Proposals

About the role

Avanceon is hiring a Solution Architect for proposals, responsible for developing technically compliant, commercially competitive and executable solutions for complex industrial automation and system integration opportunities across the Middle East. The role leads assigned bids from technical understanding through solution development, costing, proposal preparation, technical review and submission support, working closely with Regional Delivery Managers, Sales, Proposal Engineers, OEMs and vendors. It also provides technical leadership to Proposal Engineers, supports workload distribution and mentors the team.

Key responsibilities

• Review customer RFQs, specifications, drawings, BOQs and tender requirements, then define system architecture, control philosophy, communication architecture, redundancy and third-party interfaces, and select technologies, hardware, software and OEM platforms.
• Lead technical proposal development, break down tender requirements into work packages, set milestones and prepare proposals, compliance statements, BOMs, BOQs, scope and interface matrices.
• Own complete bid costing: prepare cost estimates, develop cost build-ups, estimate engineering hours, evaluate vendor quotations and support pricing strategy and value engineering.
• Prepare technical RFQs for OEMs and suppliers, review vendor proposals and define vendor scope boundaries.
• Ensure compliance with customer specifications and standards, identify technical and execution risks and recommend mitigations.
• Mentor Proposal Engineers, allocate tasks, monitor quality and progress, and develop junior and mid-level engineers.
• Support opportunities across KSA, Qatar, UAE and other Middle East markets, including pre-bid discussions, technical clarifications and win strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in proposals, solution design, estimation and technico-commercial work.
• Broad exposure to industrial automation and system integration solutions, with strong expertise in at least two to three core automation/control domains.
