Spring Technical Lead / Architect (Lahore)

About the role

ByteCrew Technologies is expanding its Spring Framework Modernisation Practice and is looking for a Spring Technical Lead / Architect to drive upgrade strategies for large portfolios of Java services. The role will own the design, implementation and governance of migrations from legacy Spring Framework and Spring Boot versions to the latest LTS releases.

Key responsibilities

• Define and lead Spring Framework upgrade strategy for portfolios of 100‑500+ Java services.
• Create migration patterns, refactoring playbooks and acceptance criteria for sprint‑based delivery.
• Author and customise OpenRewrite recipes to automate code transformation at scale.
• Design upgrade paths for Spring Boot 2.x to 3.x migrations, including Java 17, Jakarta EE namespace changes and dependency updates.
• Conduct security baseline assessments and dependency risk reviews.
• Lead knowledge‑transfer workshops and mentor migration engineers.
• Review complex migration pull requests and coordinate with framework vendor support.
• Collaborate with client architecture and platform teams on integration and adoption.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of Java/Spring development experience, with at least 3 years in an architect or lead role.
• Hands‑on experience migrating Spring Boot 2.x to 3.x at portfolio scale (50+ applications).
• Fluent professional English.
