Streaming Engineer – Live Video Operations

About the role

Tapmad is looking for a skilled Streaming Engineer to own end‑to‑end video streaming workflows. You will ensure high‑quality, reliable and scalable live streams across multiple platforms while collaborating with production, content and network teams.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and manage live streams using protocols such as SRT, RTMP, HLS or MPEG‑TS (UDP).
• Operate encoding and transcoding tools and hardware, including FFmpeg, OBS Studio, vMix, Wirecast or Ateme.
• Configure and monitor bitrates, resolutions, audio tracks and adaptive streaming presets.
• Distribute streams via CDNs like Cloudflare, Akamai or AWS CloudFront.
• Troubleshoot latency, sync, packet loss, buffering or audio/video issues during live events.
• Coordinate with production, content and network teams before and after each stream.
• Maintain logs and generate performance and error reports after each event.
• Optimize streaming infrastructure for redundancy, scalability and minimal downtime.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in live streaming, broadcasting or digital media operations.
• Hands‑on experience with FFmpeg, OBS Studio, SRT, RTMP or similar protocols.
• Familiarity with CDN setups, especially Cloudflare, Akamai or AWS.
• Understanding of video codecs (H.264/AVC, H.265/HEVC) and container formats (.ts.mp4.mkv).
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, especially during live events.
