Subject Specialist – English

About the role

The Subject Specialist – English will lead the delivery of high‑quality English instruction, ensuring curriculum standards are met and students achieve strong literacy outcomes. This role combines classroom teaching with curriculum support, fostering creativity and effective communication across all year levels.

Key responsibilities

• Teach English classes in line with the school’s curriculum.
• Plan and deliver engaging, student‑centred lessons.
• Develop students’ reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, speaking and comprehension skills.
• Guide students in creative writing, storytelling and effective written communication.
• Assess student progress and maintain accurate academic records.
• Support fellow teachers with subject expertise, lesson planning and best teaching practices.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions and school activities.
• Ensure compliance with school policies and safeguarding procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in English, English Literature, Education, or a related field.
• Strong subject knowledge, curriculum planning and assessment practices.
• Excellent communication, classroom management and organizational skills.
