Submission Draftsman

About the role

We are looking for a Submission Draftsman to produce accurate architectural and engineering drawings that support building permit applications and project documentation. The role involves converting rough sketches, specifications, and calculations into detailed CAD drawings while ensuring compliance with codes and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare precise architectural and engineering drawings from sketches, specifications, and calculations.
• Draft building plans, elevations, sections, and details using CAD software.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to verify that drawings meet project standards.
• Update existing drawings to reflect design changes or as‑built conditions.
• Maintain an organized library of current drawings and related documentation.
• Conduct site visits to collect measurements and verify specifications when needed.
• Assist in preparing documentation for permit applications and regulatory submissions.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree or technical certificate in drafting, architecture, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience producing architectural and engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of building codes, construction processes, and terminology.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Excellent attention to detail and clear communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD or Revit.
• Experience with 3D modeling and visualization tools.
• Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) processes.
• Knowledge of building systems, materials, and construction methods.
