Sustainability Manager – Operations EH&S (Akora Factory)

About the role

The Sustainability Manager will ensure the implementation and compliance of BAT guidelines and all local and national regulations for the Akora Khattak Factory and associated agribusiness operations in Pakistan. The role focuses on creating a safe workplace, achieving zero incidents, and driving continuous improvement in environmental, health, and safety performance.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with BAT’s EHS policy and all applicable local/national regulations.
• Monitor discharges and emissions against BAT and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and submit regular reports on global reporting indicators.
• Provide EHS support for ongoing projects, including incident recording and accident investigations.
• Lead the internal and international review processes to identify improvement opportunities.
• Develop staff, suppliers, and contractors through EHS‑specific training and awareness programs.
• Maintain strong relationships with local regulatory bodies such as the EPA and factory inspectors.
• Collaborate with regional and global EHS communities to share best practices.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to ensure compliance with EHS policies and regulations.
• Experience leading EHS activities and managing an EHS management system.
• Proactive communication with regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders.
• Capability to conduct thorough investigations of serious accidents or environmental incidents.
