Taxation Officer

About the role

GumCorp is looking for a dedicated Taxation Officer to join the finance team on a permanent basis. This position offers an emerging tax professional the chance to apply tax knowledge, support compliance, and contribute to the company’s financial health in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and file various tax returns in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Conduct tax research to identify liabilities, optimise positions, and stay current with legislative changes.
• Assist tax audits by gathering documentation and responding to tax authority inquiries.
• Maintain organised tax records to ensure audit readiness.
• Support financial reporting by providing accurate tax‑related data and analyses.
• Use tax software and spreadsheet applications for calculations, data management, and reporting.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of tax operations.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of experience in taxation or an accounting‑related role.
• Solid understanding of tax law, filing, auditing, compliance and research.
• Proficiency in accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication and time‑management skills.
