Technical Team Leader – Network & Security Engineer

About the role

This full‑time position based in Karachi reports to the Director of Managed Services in Australia. You will be the technical anchor of the Voice, Data & Networks team, responsible for designing, implementing and operating enterprise network and security environments while mentoring junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure, troubleshoot and maintain multi‑vendor network hardware and security infrastructure.
• Own and deliver network/security workstreams for large‑scale projects from planning through testing, documentation and handover.
• Design, configure and troubleshoot VPN, SD‑WAN and remote‑access solutions.
• Configure and optimise QoS, MPLS, NetScaler and WAN optimisation/load‑balancing technologies.
• Monitor network performance, availability and service quality.
• Implement technical changes with risk assessment, testing and rollback procedures.
• Create and maintain solution designs, operational documentation, standards and network diagrams.
• Provide day‑to‑day technical leadership, coaching and mentoring to team technicians.
• Act as escalation point for complex incidents, coordinating with internal teams, vendors and client stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in network, security or infrastructure engineering.
• Advanced knowledge of switching and routing across Cisco, Juniper and Ubiquiti platforms.
• Advanced firewall expertise with FortiGate, Cisco, Meraki, Juniper and Barracuda.
• Advanced wireless experience with Meraki, Aruba and Ubiquiti.
• Strong VPN, SD‑WAN and remote‑access design and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with FortiManager, FortiCloud, FortiAnalyzer and Cisco ASA/Security platforms.
• Extensive knowledge of security threats, exploitation methods and prevention controls.
• Proven experience delivering large‑scale network/security projects.
• Strong L2/L3 troubleshooting across network, wireless, firewall, WAN and remote‑access.
• Ability to mentor and lead technicians while remaining hands‑on.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
