Trainee Engineer – HSE (Safety & Environment)

About the role

The Trainee Engineer – HSE will join the Steel Division at Crescent Steel and Allied Products Limited to acquire hands‑on experience in the company’s health, safety and environment management system. Under supervision, you will support daily HSE inspections, incident investigations and the implementation of corrective actions while learning the integrated QHSE processes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily HSE inspections and safety walkthroughs across plant areas.
• Maintain records of incidents, near‑misses, risk assessments, fire equipment inspections and HSE observations.
• Support incident/accident investigations, root‑cause analysis and CAPA follow‑up.
• Assist in emergency drills, firefighting equipment inspections and environmental monitoring.
• Prepare and maintain HSE documentation in line with ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and legal requirements.
• Help organise HSE training, safety talks and awareness initiatives.
• Support internal and external HSE audits by providing required records.
• Monitor PPE compliance and maintain a PPE matrix for different job roles.
• Update HSE KPI dashboards and analyse data for management review.
• Assist in budgeting, cost tracking and inventory planning for HSE consumables.

Required profile

• BE in Safety, Environment, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical or Metallurgy.
• Maximum age 28 years.
• Fresh graduate to 1 year of experience.
• NEBOSH IGC or IOSH certification preferred.
