Trainee Engineer - Solar

About the role

FAMN Shine Co is looking for a Trainee Engineer for its solar energy work in Karachi. This entry-level opportunity suits a recent engineering graduate who wants practical experience with solar photovoltaic systems and contributes to reliable project delivery. The trainee works alongside experienced engineering and project team members, supporting technical planning, installation coordination, inspection and documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with preliminary site assessments, solar system layouts, equipment selection and basic energy-yield calculations.
• Support installation and commissioning of photovoltaic panels, inverters, mounting structures and related electrical components.
• Help review drawings, bills of materials, technical specifications and project documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Observe safety procedures and electrical and installation standards during site and workshop activities.
• Record inspection findings, test results, progress updates and equipment information, escalating issues to supervising engineers.
• Coordinate with team members and suppliers so materials and work are ready on schedule.

Required profile

• Recent engineering graduate; curious, dependable and attentive to detail.
• Comfortable learning both technical concepts and practical field processes.
• Clear communication, teamwork, organization, problem-solving and a safety-conscious approach.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of solar photovoltaic systems, electrical circuits and renewable energy principles.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams, engineering drawings, equipment datasheets and technical specifications.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or equivalent tools for reports, spreadsheets and documentation.
• Exposure to AutoCAD or solar design and simulation software is beneficial, with willingness to learn required tools.
