Transport & Safety Specialist

About the role

The Transport & Safety Specialist ensures timely and accurate execution of customer orders by optimizing transport operations at the Distribution Center. This role focuses on enhancing transport efficiency, maintaining safety compliance, and driving cost‑optimization while aligning with Nestlé standards.

Key responsibilities

• Implement safety standards, fleet inspection protocols, and contractual safety clauses to ensure compliance across all transport operations.
• Manage transport availability to support customer service levels and guarantee timely order fulfillment.
• Monitor and improve transport efficiency through shift‑wise planning, dwell‑time reduction, and performance tracking.
• Support the Transport Manager in planning, monitoring, and executing cost‑saving initiatives within VDC operations.
• Drive continuous improvement using KPI dashboards, health checks, and process‑optimization initiatives.
• Lead cost‑saving projects employing NCE methodologies such as Inno/Renno cycles, White Belt, and Green Belt projects.
• Strengthen vendor and stakeholder relationships to ensure smooth operational execution.
• Develop and coach transport assistants to build a high‑performing operational team.
• Ensure compliance with Safety, Health, Environment (SHE) and quality standards, including BBC reporting.
• Improve distribution infrastructure efficiency, including trolley availability and inbound operations.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, or distribution.
• Exposure to transport management and distribution operations.
• Experience in project management and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Proven ability to work with cross‑functional teams (Customer Service, Technical, DC Operations, etc.).
