UI/UX Designer (First in Team)

About the role

A US-headquartered company with a growing team in Islamabad is hiring its first UI/UX designer. There is no design function yet, so you will build the design process, design systems and the work itself across web, mobile and internal products, for audiences ranging from executives to everyday US consumers. The role starts in October 2026 and is on-site at the company's campus in Gulberg Greens, Islamabad.

Key responsibilities

• Build the design function: how requests come in, how they are prioritized and how design works with product, marketing, web and engineering
• Create design systems: components, tokens, type, color and spacing that developers can use without guessing
• Run a process from idea to launch: research, sketches, prototypes, reviews, handoff and a check after launch
• Design product interfaces, websites, landing pages and the materials shown to customers
• Keep a habit of talking to users and getting regular feedback
• As the work grows, help choose tools, freelancers or hires

Required profile

• 3+ years designing web and mobile products used by real users, including at least one taken from early concept to live release
• Experience setting up or improving a design process, library or system
• Experience designing both user-facing and admin or back-office views
• Experience working with engineers and shipping designs, and designing for US users or products selling outside Pakistan
• Ability to handle several projects at once and make calls on priorities

Required skills

• Figma: auto layout, components, variants, variables and a clear file structure
• UX fundamentals: user flows, information architecture, wireframes, interactive prototypes
• Visual design: type, grids, spacing, color and hierarchy
• Mobile-first, responsive design and accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA)
• Usability testing with five people and reading GA4, heatmaps and session recordings
• Handoff: specs and notes developers can build from, with enough HTML/CSS knowledge to judge cost
• Clear interface copy and written English for US stakeholders
