Underwriting Analyst – Gold and Non‑Gold Lending

About the role

We are seeking an Underwriting Analyst to evaluate secured gold loans and unsecured non‑gold loans. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze applicants’ financial information and make recommendations to mitigate lending risk.
• Collaborate with loan underwriting and business teams to ensure a smooth application process.
• Review loan applications and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Assess employment history, credit reports, banking assets, borrowing history, and repayment capacity.
• Identify undisclosed debts or cash‑flow issues and determine appropriate loan amounts.
• Make eligibility decisions, approve or reject applications, and document reasons.
• Prepare reports and MIS on approved, declined, and under‑processed loans.

Required profile

• Minimum graduate degree in business, banking, finance, or related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in banking, preferably in loan underwriting.
• Good working knowledge of loan processing and relevant legal regulations.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
