Unit Head - Credit Card Reconciliation

About the role

The Bank of Punjab is hiring a Unit Head for its Credit Cards & Digital Banking Operations Division (Operations Group) in Lahore. The role leads the reconciliation of credit card and merchant settlements, including MDR, interchange fees, processor statements and internal General Ledger accounts, and covers both issuing and acquiring sides of the card business. The position is listed at Grade Band-5 / Band-3.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily, weekly and monthly reconciliation of credit card and merchant settlements, including MDR, interchange fees, processor statements and internal General Ledger accounts.
• Oversee issuing (cardholder transactions) and acquiring (merchant settlements and POS networks), and reconcile scheme charges and vendor invoices.
• Ensure timely processing and resolution of variance backlogs, unmatched entries and open aging items.
• Maintain relationships with schemes (Visa, MasterCard, UPI), settlement banks and third-party processors.
• Develop, implement and maintain internal control procedures for the business unit.
• Monitor daily transactions to detect, investigate and escalate misuse, system errors or unauthorized charges, and identify systemic issues with vendors, IT and core banking teams.
• Lead automation initiatives to move from manual tracking to specialized reconciliation software.
• Train staff on card network rules and operational controls, and prepare management reports on aging, open risks and financial impact.
• Keep the unit's Audit & Internal Control ratings at an acceptable and stable level.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an HEC-recognized local or foreign university.
• Minimum 9 years of banking or non-banking experience.
• Age up to 55 years as of November 12, 2026.
