Assistant Manager Legal

About the role

The Assistant Manager Legal will support Mobilink Microfinance Bank Ltd by ensuring compliance with laws, regulations and internal policies. Reporting to the Head of Legal Corporate Affairs & DPO, the role involves drafting contracts, managing litigation, and providing legal guidance to internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and respond to legal notices, prepare contracts, undertakings, NOCs, bank guarantees and other business documents.
• Provide legal opinions on HR matters such as disciplinary actions, employee disputes and warnings.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external counsel to handle court cases, file suits and follow up on litigation.
• Prepare written statements, applications and para‑wise comments for court proceedings.
• Research statutes, regulations, judicial decisions and assess their impact on the bank’s operations.
• Protect the bank’s intellectual property by overseeing trademark and copyright registrations.
• Assist branches with customer legal queries and operational legal guidance.

Required profile

• LLB or LLM degree from a reputable institution.
• 3‑5 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in microfinance or banking.
• Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management abilities.
• Professional certifications are a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related reporting tools.
