Backend Engineer – Fintech (Pakistan)

About the role

As a Backend Engineer you will build and scale the infrastructure that powers nsave’s financial services platform. You will work closely with the CTO and the engineering team to own critical backend subsystems, ensuring reliability, security, and compliance for thousands of users across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain core backend infrastructure, including service architecture, reliability, build and release pipelines, and integrations with compliance and banking services.
• Identify and remediate weak spots in the codebase and infrastructure to improve system health.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to ship features for multiple markets.
• Contribute to engineering best practices, code quality, and process improvements as the platform scales.

Required profile

• Strong engineering fundamentals with knowledge of clean architecture, layered abstractions, and complexity trade‑offs.
• Broad platform knowledge across backend architecture, databases, site reliability, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD.
• Security‑mindset capable of designing robust financial systems that meet high compliance requirements.
• Business‑oriented decision making, balancing speed with quality based on product context.

Required skills

• Experience with backend languages and frameworks suitable for scalable financial systems.
• Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure‑as‑code tools.
• Knowledge of databases and site‑reliability engineering practices.
