Import & Export Operations Manager

About the role

The Import & Export Operations Manager will oversee end‑to‑end international trade activities, ensuring smooth coordination from order placement through final delivery. This role requires a practical understanding of customs procedures, documentation, and shipment logistics within a fast‑paced procurement environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of import and export operations, from order to delivery.
• Prepare, review and maintain trade documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading and certificates of origin.
• Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, clearing agents and customs authorities to secure timely clearance.
• Track shipments, monitor booking status, transit progress and resolve delays or documentation issues.
• Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and customs laws.
• Generate reports on transaction volumes, shipping costs and operational performance.
• Liaise with procurement, finance and warehouse teams to align schedules and payment processes.
• Maintain strong relationships with international suppliers and customers.
• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce delays and costs.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in import/export logistics or international trade.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage the complete trade cycle.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills for dealing with suppliers, authorities and internal stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel when necessary for supplier or partner meetings.
