IT Support Engineer – Technical Support Specialist

About the role

Riphah International University is seeking a skilled IT Support Engineer to provide first‑ and second‑level technical assistance to staff and students. The role ensures the smooth operation of the university’s hardware, software, and network environments while maintaining security and documentation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver timely first‑ and second‑level support for hardware, software, and network issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain workstations, printers, network devices, and essential applications.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware failures, OS errors, and peripheral malfunctions.
• Manage user accounts in Active Directory, handling creation, modification, and deactivation.
• Process and track support tickets using the university’s ticketing system.
• Maintain detailed IT documentation, including support logs and system configurations.
• Implement security measures and data‑protection strategies in line with university policies.
• Assist with onboarding by setting up new workstations and installing required software.
• Liaise with external vendors for procurement, maintenance, and warranty support.
• Monitor LAN/WAN connections and troubleshoot network problems using diagnostic tools and Cisco IOS.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in technical troubleshooting, network configuration, and hardware diagnostics.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and excellent communication skills.
