Legal Affairs Manager

About the role

IPC Group seeks a Legal Affairs Manager to lead legal risk management, contract governance, and compliance across its International Petrochemicals, Pachem Global, and South Chemicals businesses. Reporting directly to the Board, the role works closely with senior management on all legal matters affecting the group.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, including sales, procurement, distribution, joint‑venture and service agreements.
• Advise the Board and senior management on legal risk, corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
• Manage litigation, arbitration and dispute‑resolution matters, coordinating with external counsel as needed.
• Ensure compliance with corporate, labour, tax and trade laws applicable to the group’s companies.
• Oversee corporate secretarial duties such as SECP filings, board resolutions and statutory registers.
• Support HR on employment‑law issues, policy drafting and disciplinary or legal proceedings.
• Conduct legal due‑diligence for new initiatives, partnerships or transactions.
• Maintain a contract/document management system and a legal risk register.

Required profile

• LLB or LLM from a recognized institution; bar council registration preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of legal experience, preferably in‑house within a manufacturing, trading or chemicals environment.
• Strong knowledge of corporate, commercial and labour law in Pakistan.
• Proven experience handling litigation and working with external law firms.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and stakeholder‑management abilities.
