Mechanical Engineer – Hydraulic & Piping Systems

About the role

Hydro Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, specify, and support hydraulic, pneumatic and water‑management equipment. The role is based on‑site in Lahore and includes travel for installations and commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare mechanical designs, CAD drawings and bills of materials for pumps, piping, skids and related equipment.
• Select and size pumps, valves, actuators and power units using performance curves.
• Develop technical specifications, evaluate vendor datasheets and review shop drawings to support procurement.
• Supervise on‑site installation, alignment, testing and commissioning, ensuring compliance with drawings and safety standards.
• Perform root‑cause troubleshooting, failure analysis and recommend corrective actions.
• Create preventive maintenance plans, inspection checklists and spare‑parts lists to maximise equipment uptime.
• Produce test reports, maintenance plans, as‑built drawings and communicate technical information in English and Urdu.

Required profile

• Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks or AutoCAD) for fabrication and assembly drawings.
• Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, pump and piping system design, head‑loss calculations and pump performance curves.
• Experience with centrifugal and positive‑displacement pump selection and sizing.
• Knowledge of materials, welding methods, fit‑up and mechanical tolerances for rotating equipment and pipework.
• Familiarity with commissioning, alignment, vibration checks and mechanical testing protocols.
• Ability to interpret vendor datasheets, P&IDs and technical specifications.
• Effective documentation and clear communication in English and Urdu.
